Great Turnout at Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Village of Churchville’s 5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

Over 100 community residents gathered for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the Village of Churchville on December 4, 2011. Churchville Lions members and the ‘Churchville Lion’ were there to spread Christmas cheer by handing out candy canes to all in attendance. Holiday songs were sung by the vocal group “Off the Beat” from Churchville Chili High School. With the children circled at her feet, local author, Terry Werth, read a Christmas story that she wrote for the holiday season. Everyone gathered outside as Mayor Nancy Steedman lit the Christmas tree and then a group of three trees for our Troops which were decorated; one in red, one in white and the last in blue lights. These were lit for the Troops this holiday season. Following the tree lighting, everyone returned to the village office for refreshments and a visit from Santa.
