Village of Churchville
Creekside Cemetery

"With humble reverence I searched for a place for my eternal resting place. Mighty trees shadow the green carpet, which comfort me. Beside tranquil waters, I hear my friends and neighbors, so close, so close am I to the place I love so much"

Rules and Regulations

Churchville’s Creekside Cemetery is an interfaith non-denominational cemetery. St. Vincent Depaul's Roman Catholic Church of Churchville has cemetery land adjacent to Churchville’s Creekside Cemetery and is managed by the Department of Public Works. Contact St. Vincent DePaul’s Roman Catholic Church (office 585-293-1400) for the selection and purchase of plots in that section.

With its rolling hills, large pines, oaks, and numerous other varieties of trees CHURCHVILLE’S CREEKSIDE CEMETERY is a living shrine to our deceased relatives and friends.

The prime purpose for which your cemetery was established is to provide burial space for proper memorialization. Along with this is the lasting satisfaction and contentment of the living that their deceased relative or friend has been memorialized in a carefully maintained and administered cemetery in accordance and agreement with plot lessees and in compliance with the laws of the state.

The Department of Public Works takes pride in the village cemetery and makes every effort to keep it attractive and well groomed.

MEMORIALS

If the memorial plot is selected in an area where above ground level monuments are planned, the lessee should visit the plot area before purchasing any memorial in order to be certain that when installed it will be appropriate to the lot and to the adjoining area. All memorials can be a maximum of 1’ by 40" long and one stone per plot.

The Department of Public Works will provide the foundation for ALL memorials in CHURCHVILLE’S CREEKSIDE CEMETERY and ST. VINCENT DEPAUL’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CEMETERY.

RECORDING

The Village Office works with the Superintendent of Public Works in protecting the plot lessee’s burial directions, proper location, recording, and requests to the funeral director.

Surveyor’s maps covering the complete layout of the cemetery and its many sections are located in the village office.

The rules and regulations set forth in here were adopted by the Village Board of Churchville on April 16, 1981 and are revised periodically.
